NOTICIAS DEL CENTRO

Los 4 profesores agraciados con el programa Erasmus para bachillerato hemos vivido una bonita e intensa experiencia, durante 8 días en Finlandia, empapándonos de la cultura y forma de vida en un instituto de Helsinki. El sábado en el que llegamos a Helsinki pudimos vivir una agradable jornada de turismo junto a los compañeros que debían partir para un centro de Formación Profesional, situado al norte de Finlandia. 

The four teachers chosen for the Erasmus+ programme for Bachillerato had a beautiful, intense and interesting experience during their 8 days in Finland, soaking up Finnish culture and lifestyle while following the weekday routine of students and teachers at an upper secondary school in Helsinki.

We spent our first day in the city with our colleagues who were due to have the same experience at a vocational institution in the north of the country (Rahe).

The striking blue sky of Helsinki in the morning did not foreshadow the heavy snow we had in the afternoon.

Nos sorprendió el intenso cielo azul de Helsinki, que no hacía presagiar la intensa nevada que nos cayó por la tarde

A pesar del precioso y soleado día que hacía, el intenso frío nos obligó a refugiarnos durante un rato en el mercado, un sitio acogedor por sus cafés y muy atractivo para la vista.

It was so cold that we took refuge in the old market, at present a crowded place full of shops meant for tourists and nice cafés.

Al salir del restaurante donde comimos, nos vimos sorprendidos por la nevada que caía, lo cual no impidió que nos embarcáramos hacia la isla de Suomenlinna, que conserva los restos de una fortaleza construida cuando Finlandia formaba parte de Suecia.

As said before, just after lunch, coming out of the restaurant, we were amazed at

the snowfall, though this did not prevent us from taking a boat to the Suomenlinna fortress island, a World Heritage Site built while Finland was still part of Sweden.

Al terminar cada día, volvíamos a la residencia que durante una semana fue nuestro hogar. Allí nos preparábamos, en la modesta cocina de la planta, una suculenta cena rápida. Esta semana ha sido también una bonita experiencia de convivencia y supervivencia. Algunas noches, nos comunicábamos por teléfono con los compañeros destinados en Rahe, que parecían estar muy divertidos en ese momento. ¿Nosotros tampoco lo hemos pasado mal!

At the end of each day, we returned to our Halls of residence, our home for a week, where we prepared our delicious dinner in the small kitchen located on our floor. These days also served as a valuable experience of collaboration among us. Some nights, we talked by phone with our colleagues in Rahe, who seemed to be enjoying their stay as much as we were in Helsinki.
